Ritz Carlton selected as No. 1 golf resort for 2008

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples, ranks as the top golf resort in Florida in a Conde Nast Traveler survey of readers for 2008. In the 13th annual survey, the resort ranks 9th in the list of "Top 100 Golf Resorts" in North America, the Carribbean, the Atlantic, Ireland, and Scotland. That's up from 15th place last year.

This year's rankings can be found in the June issue of the magazine. The annual readers' poll rates golf resorts on the strength and design of courses, as well as the level of service and accomodations provided.

"It's an honor to be recognized by the readers of "Conde Nast Traveler," said Mike McMahon, the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort's general manager, in a statement.

The golf resort, with 295 rooms, has been named one of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts" every year since opening in 2002. It's a AAA Five Diamond, Mobil Four-Star property with a pair of 18-hole signature Greg Norman golf courses at Tiburon.(source: naples daily, 6-6-2008)
